live report
Broadcasting as happening
A live report is news coverage broadcast in real time from the scene of an event, as opposed to pre-recorded segments.
The reporter appears on screen or audio while events unfold: We go now to our correspondent for a live report from the courthouse.
The format conveys immediacy and authenticity, even when the actual news content is minimal.
