little free library
Curbside book exchange
A little free library is a small, publicly accessible box or structure where people can take and leave books freely.
Usually mounted on a post in someone's front yard or a community space, these informal book-sharing stations operate on an honor system: I found a great mystery novel at the little free library down the street.
The term is sometimes capitalized when referring to the nonprofit organization that promotes them.
