liquefactions

Solids turning fluid

Liquefactions is the plural of liquefaction, the process of becoming liquid or making something liquid.

The term appears most often in technical contexts: natural gas undergoes liquefaction for transport, and during earthquakes, soil liquefaction occurs when waterlogged ground loses its solidity and behaves like a fluid, causing buildings to sink or tilt.
