late night host

A late night host is the presenter of a television talk show that airs after prime time, typically around 11 PM or later.

The format usually combines monologue comedy, celebrity interviews, and musical performances.

The role has become culturally significant in American television: Letterman was the quintessential late night host.

Late night hosts often shape political discourse through topical jokes and commentary.
