lash-up
Temporary improvised solution
A lash-up is something improvised or hastily assembled, often from whatever materials are at hand: We rigged up a lash-up shelter from tarps and branches.
The term suggests functionality over elegance—it works, but it's rough.
In British usage, a lash-up can also mean a mess or blunder: The whole project was a complete lash-up.
