lap dogs
Tiny companion canines
Lap dogs are small breeds of dog suited to being held in a person's lap—companion animals bred for affection rather than work or hunting.
Figuratively, a lap dog is someone who follows another slavishly, eager to please without independent thought: The senator dismissed the committee as lap dogs for the administration.
Also spelled as one word: lapdogs.
