land power
Military ground dominance
Land power is military strength based on ground forces—armies, tanks, and territorial control—as distinct from sea power or air power.
The term also describes a nation whose strategic advantage comes primarily from its army rather than its navy: Russia has historically been a land power, while Britain relied on naval dominance.
In geopolitics, land powers often expand by conquering contiguous territory.
