knuckler
Erratic baseball throw
A knuckler is a knuckleball—a pitch in baseball thrown with minimal spin by gripping the ball with the fingernails or knuckles.
The lack of rotation causes erratic, unpredictable movement that confounds batters and catchers alike: He threw a nasty knuckler that danced past the hitter.
By extension, someone who throws this pitch is also called a knuckler.
