A know-it-all is someone who acts as if they have expertise on every subject and makes sure everyone knows it.
The term is always dismissive—nobody calls themselves a know-it-all: Don't be such a know-it-all.
The behavior combines genuine or pretended knowledge with an annoying eagerness to display it, especially when unsolicited.
