knit fabric
Interlocked loop material
Knit fabric is textile made by interlocking loops of yarn rather than weaving threads over and under each other.
The looped structure gives knits their characteristic stretch and flexibility, making them ideal for garments that need to move with the body: T-shirts, sweaters, and socks are all knit fabrics.
