kinara
Seven-branched holiday holder
A kinara is a seven-branched candelabrum used during Kwanzaa, the African American cultural holiday celebrated from December 26 to January 1.
Each branch holds a candle representing one of the seven principles (Nguzo Saba) of the holiday: unity, self-determination, collective work, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.
We lit the kinara together on the first night of Kwanzaa.
