jamais

Not ever, Gallic

Jamais is French for "never" or "ever," borrowed into English primarily in the phrase jamais vu—the unsettling sensation that something familiar feels strange or unfamiliar, as if encountered for the first time.

It's the opposite of déjà vu: I looked at my own handwriting and experienced jamais vu.
