itinerant workers
Traveling seasonal employees
Itinerant workers are laborers who move from place to place for employment rather than settling permanently.
The term often describes agricultural workers who follow harvest seasons, or tradespeople who travel to where work is available: Itinerant workers picked crops up and down the Central Valley.
The phrase can carry connotations of precarious employment and limited labor protections.
