An international edition is a version of a publication, textbook, or product adapted for distribution outside its country of origin.
Textbook publishers produce international editions with identical content at lower prices for overseas markets, often with different covers and restrictions against resale in the original country: The international edition was half the price but couldn't legally be sold in the US.
Newspapers and magazines publish international editions with content adjusted for global audiences.
