intelligent designer
Deliberate cosmic planner
An intelligent designer is a supernatural being posited to have created life and the universe, central to the intelligent design movement that challenges evolutionary theory.
The term deliberately avoids naming God to present the concept as scientific rather than religious: Proponents argue an intelligent designer must be responsible for biological complexity.
Critics view it as creationism repackaged.
