infant colic
Newborn crying spells
Infant colic is prolonged, intense crying in an otherwise healthy baby, typically defined as crying more than three hours a day, three days a week, for three weeks or longer.
The cause remains unclear despite decades of research.
Colic usually begins around two weeks of age and resolves by three to four months: The pediatrician said it was just colic and would pass.
