hypoglycaemia

Dangerously low glucose

Hypoglycaemia (also spelled hypoglycemia) is abnormally low blood sugar, a condition that can cause symptoms ranging from shakiness and confusion to seizures and loss of consciousness.

It occurs most commonly in diabetics who have taken too much insulin or not eaten enough, but can also affect people without diabetes.

The opposite condition, high blood sugar, is hyperglycaemia.
