Honor rolls are lists of students who have achieved high academic marks during a grading period.
Schools post them publicly as recognition: She made the honor roll every semester.
The phrase extends to any roster acknowledging excellence or merit: the honor roll of fallen soldiers, the company's sales honor roll.
