hidden face
Obscured from view
The hidden face is the side of something turned away from view.
The term appears most often in astronomy, where the Moon's hidden face (or far side) permanently faces away from Earth due to tidal locking: The first photographs of the Moon's hidden face came from Soviet spacecraft.
More generally, a hidden face suggests concealed aspects of a person or thing: the hidden face of corporate power.
