heart attacks
Coronary artery blockages
A heart attack is the death of heart muscle caused by blocked blood flow, usually from a clot in a coronary artery.
The term applies both to the medical event and its symptoms—chest pain, shortness of breath, cold sweats.
Figuratively, something that nearly gives you a heart attack is extremely startling or stressful: I almost had a heart attack when I saw the bill.
