hawk watch
Counting migrating raptors
A hawk watch is an organized effort to observe and count raptors during migration, or the site where such observation takes place.
Enthusiasts gather at ridgelines, coastlines, and other geographic features where migrating hawks, eagles, and falcons concentrate: We spent the morning at the hawk watch on the mountain.
The activity combines citizen science with birdwatching.
