gung-ho

Raring to go

Gung-ho means extremely enthusiastic, eager, or zealous—sometimes excessively so.

The term often implies someone who charges ahead without caution: He's gung-ho about the new project.

It can carry a slightly dismissive tone, suggesting naïveté or recklessness: Don't get too gung-ho—we need to think this through.

Originally military slang adopted from Chinese, it entered general American usage during World War II.
