grounding rods
Earth connection stakes
Grounding rods are metal rods driven into the earth to provide a safe path for electrical current, protecting buildings and electrical systems from lightning strikes or power surges.
Typically made of copper or copper-clad steel, they connect a structure's electrical system to the ground: The electrician installed grounding rods at each corner of the house.
Also called ground rods or earth rods.
