gross sales
All incoming payments
Gross sales is the total revenue from all sales before any deductions.
It represents the raw number—what came in the door before subtracting returns, discounts, allowances, or other adjustments.
Gross sales hit two million, but after returns and chargebacks, net sales were closer to 1.8 million.
The figure matters for measuring sales volume but overstates actual revenue.
