green schools
Sustainable learning facilities
Green schools are educational institutions designed or operated to minimize environmental impact through sustainable practices.
This includes energy-efficient buildings, recycling programs, eco-friendly transportation options, and curricula that emphasize environmental awareness.
The term applies both to purpose-built facilities with solar panels and rainwater collection and to conventional schools that adopt green policies.
The district converted three campuses to green schools last year.
