gravity hill
Slope defying perception
A gravity hill is a place where the landscape creates an optical illusion making a slight downhill slope appear to be uphill.
Cars left in neutral seem to roll upward, and water appears to flow against gravity.
The effect typically results from an obscured horizon and surrounding terrain that distorts perception of level ground.
Also called a magnetic hill or mystery hill.
