gotchas
Sneaky catch-outs
Gotchas are hidden problems or unexpected catches that trip people up.
In programming, a gotcha is a counterintuitive feature or quirk that causes bugs: Python's mutable default arguments are a classic gotcha.
More broadly, any surprise complication qualifies: The contract looked good, but the fine print was full of gotchas.
Also an exclamation when catching someone out: Gotcha!
