goose decoys
Plastic hunting props
Goose decoys are artificial geese used by hunters to attract live birds within shooting range.
Typically made of plastic, wood, or foam, they're placed in fields or water to simulate a flock at rest.
Decoys exploit the social nature of geese, who are drawn to join what appears to be a safe gathering spot.
We set out two dozen goose decoys before dawn.
