getting over
Healing from something
Getting over something means recovering from or moving past it emotionally.
The phrase most often applies to disappointments, setbacks, or ended relationships: It took me months to get over the breakup.
It can also refer to recovering from illness or overcoming an obstacle.
When someone tells you to get over it, they're suggesting you stop dwelling on something and move on—often dismissively.
