gate money
Entrance fee collected
Gate money is the total revenue collected from admission fees at an event, especially a sporting match or concert.
The term comes from paying at the gate to enter.
It may also refer to the small sum of money given to prisoners upon release—enough to get them through the gate and started on the outside.
