gallopers

Horses at speed

Gallopers are people or animals that gallop—horses running at full speed, or riders urging them on.

In British usage, gallopers also refers to a traditional fairground ride: a carousel or merry-go-round, especially one with horses that move up and down as if galloping.

The children queued for the gallopers at the village fête.
