fraud report
Deception complaint filing
A fraud report is a formal document or filing that alerts authorities, financial institutions, or organizations to suspected fraudulent activity.
People file fraud reports with banks when they notice unauthorized charges, with credit bureaus when their identity has been stolen, or with law enforcement when they've been scammed: I filed a fraud report after someone opened credit cards in my name.
The term also refers to institutional documents analyzing patterns of deceptive practices.
