forceouts
Tagged base outs
Forceouts is the plural of forceout, a baseball term for a play in which a baserunner is put out because they were forced to advance to the next base when a batter became a runner.
The fielder needs only to touch the base while holding the ball before the runner arrives, rather than tagging the runner directly.
The shortstop turned two forceouts into a double play.
