flying snake

Soaring limbless reptile

Flying snakes are tree-dwelling snakes of Southeast Asia that glide through the air by launching from branches, flattening their bodies, and undulating as they fall.

They don't truly fly but can cover horizontal distances of thirty meters or more.

The flying snake launched itself from the canopy and sailed to a lower branch.
