flush cut
Surface-even severing technique
A flush cut is a cut made level with an adjacent surface, leaving no protrusion.
In woodworking, a flush cut saw has flexible teeth that allow cutting dowels or plugs even with the surrounding wood without scratching it.
The term applies broadly to any cutting that produces a smooth, even plane: Use a flush cut to trim the excess material.
