flight directors
Space operation leaders
Flight directors are senior personnel who coordinate space missions from ground control, overseeing all aspects of a spacecraft's operation and making critical decisions during flight.
At NASA, the flight director has ultimate authority over mission conduct: The flight director called for an abort.
In aviation, a flight director is an instrument system that displays guidance for pilots to follow, showing the optimal flight path on cockpit displays.
