fingerbowl
Tableside hand washer
A fingerbowl is a small bowl of water, often with a lemon slice or flower petal floating in it, presented at formal dinners for rinsing the fingers between courses or after eating foods like shellfish or artichokes.
The practice is rare outside fine dining: The waiter set a fingerbowl beside each guest after the lobster course.
