final vows
Lifelong religious pledge
Final vows are the permanent, binding commitments made by a member of a religious order—typically after years of temporary vows and formation.
In Catholic religious life, final vows usually include poverty, chastity, and obedience, and represent an irrevocable dedication to the community and its way of life: She took her final vows after seven years as a novice.
The term sometimes extends to any ultimate, irreversible commitment.
