final judgments
Conclusive court decisions
Final judgments are court decisions that resolve all issues in a case, leaving nothing further for the court to decide.
Once a judgment is final, it can be appealed to a higher court and enforced against the losing party.
The term distinguishes conclusive rulings from preliminary or interlocutory orders that address only part of a dispute: The court entered final judgment in favor of the plaintiff.
