fever check
Checking for illness
A fever check is measuring someone's body temperature to detect illness, typically using a thermometer on the forehead or in the ear.
The practice became ubiquitous during the COVID-19 pandemic, when fever checks were required for entry to workplaces, schools, and public venues: Everyone had to pass a fever check before entering the building.
