farm road
Tractor path, unpaved
A farm road is an unpaved or minimally maintained road serving agricultural land, typically connecting fields, barns, or farmhouses to main routes.
Farm roads are often private, rutted, and muddy: The tractor bounced down the farm road toward the barn.
In some regions, notably Texas, Farm Road (abbreviated FM) designates a class of state-maintained rural highways.
