facial tic

Involuntary eye blink

A facial tic is a sudden, involuntary movement of muscles in the face—a twitch of the eye, a grimace, a nose wrinkle.

Tics are repetitive and difficult to control, though they can sometimes be suppressed temporarily.

They may be triggered by stress or fatigue, or occur as part of conditions like Tourette syndrome: His facial tic worsened during exams.
