extra-long

Beyond standard length

Extra-long describes something longer than standard or typical length: extra-long twin beds, extra-long shoelaces, extra-long battery life.

The hyphen joins the modifier when it precedes a noun; without the noun, the hyphen often drops: The cables run extra long.
