extension office
Agricultural advisory branch
An extension office is a local branch of a cooperative extension service, typically affiliated with a state university, that provides educational resources to the public on agriculture, horticulture, nutrition, and community development.
Extension offices connect academic research to practical application, offering everything from soil testing to 4-H youth programs: I called the county extension office about my tomato blight.
