exercise stress test
Treadmill heart assessment
An exercise stress test is a medical procedure that monitors heart function while a patient exerts themselves physically, typically on a treadmill or stationary bicycle.
Doctors use it to detect cardiovascular problems that might not appear when the heart is at rest: The exercise stress test revealed an irregular heartbeat under exertion.
Also called a cardiac stress test or simply stress test.
