event horizons
Black hole edges
Event horizons is the plural of event horizon, a boundary in space beyond which nothing—not even light—can escape.
The term comes from physics, describing the edge of a black hole: Once you cross the event horizon, there's no coming back.
Figuratively, it marks a point of no return in any situation: We're past the event horizon on this project.
