evacuation trains
Emergency departure rail
Evacuation trains are trains used to transport people away from danger zones during emergencies—war, natural disasters, or other crises.
The term gained renewed currency during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, when trains carried civilians from besieged cities to safer regions: Evacuation trains ran around the clock from Kyiv.
