error reporting
System alerts users
Error reporting is the process of documenting and communicating problems that occur in software, systems, or processes.
In computing, error reporting often happens automatically when programs crash or malfunction, sending diagnostic information to developers: Windows asked if I wanted to send an error report.
The term also applies to manual reporting of bugs or issues: The app has a built-in error reporting feature.
