enrichment courses
Beyond core curriculum
Enrichment courses are classes taken for personal growth rather than degree requirements or professional credentials.
They supplement regular education with subjects like art, music, foreign languages, or creative writing—areas considered beneficial but not essential to a core curriculum.
The community center offers enrichment courses for retirees.
The term implies learning for its own sake rather than vocational necessity.
