employer match
Company contribution match
An employer match is a contribution an employer makes to an employee's retirement account, typically matching a percentage of what the employee contributes: The company offers a 50% employer match up to 6% of salary.
Taking full advantage of the employer match is often called "free money"—declining it means leaving part of your compensation on the table.
